cannot find index.dat

I have an administrator account, in Vista. My folder options are set to see hidden files and folders. I am trying to find the index.dat folder on my machine. I have tried C:/Users/<username>/Appdata/.... all down from there.
Why can't I see it?
Where is it?
I have done a full search in the C drive.
Am I doing things wrong?Start Free Trial
