Looking for program to lockdown computer, unlock with password?

I know you can do this via group policy but I am looking for a program to take a computer and lock it down and then be able to unlock it without having to log off and log back on. I want to restrict things such as network browsing my computer etc. These are machines that are in patient waiting rooms that are usually unmonitored. Group policy I find is a bit hard to understand and also doesn't really clearly seem to tell you what each policy does. I am looking for somethng a little simplier that doesn't require me to log off and log back on as another user.

Group Policy is the way to go mate !

Or else go for Windows Steady State from Microsoft. It is designed for a kiosk/public computer.

Thanks for the help. That steadystate is pretty neat. Very similar to a program called deepfreeze.  I guess with Group Policy though it seems as though to use you have to log off and log on as a different user. Can you apply and remove group poliicies without logging of and on as a different user?
