Is it possible to have a windows 2003 dhcp and dns server
I have a windows 2003 server that is part of mydomain.com. We are migrating to a new domain, newmydomain.com and we have an internal labdomain that we would liek to support lab.newmydomain.com. Is it possible to have the dhcp server append three dns domain names mydomain.com, newmydomain.com, and labnremydomain.com so when a client does a lookup, all they would have to do is enter the host name. For example is server 1 is server1.mydomain.com, server 2 is server2.newmydomain.com and server 3 is server3.lab.newdomain.com,

What i am noticing is that even if i have all the dns domain names listed via dhcp,, if i take them out and leave the primary and then go into the network configurations of the client and change the dns settings to say append these dns suffixes, now it resolves without having to fully qualify them. I can ping a box from each domain and get a response, if i take out the dns suffix settings and leave with the dhcp setting, then it doesn not resolve correctly.
i think i found out that what i want wont work unless it's done via GPO, http://support.microsoft.c

sure you can though the dhcp scope option for the dns domain you can enter multi domains but be careful for the prioriy o the domains coz if the first answer it will not ask with the rest two suffex
