I just rebuilt my SBS 2003 server and everything is working with the except for one thing: I cannot map a drive via our hardware VPN. The odd thing is that I can Remote Desktop to the server without any difficulty.
Looking at the server event viewer: DCOM 10001: DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer "IP" using any of the configured protocols.
I cannot add the remote machine via ConnectComputer:
You are not authorized to view this page
The Web server you are attempting to reach has a list of IP addresses that are not allowed to access the Web site, and the IP address of your browsing computer is on this list.
Please try the following:
* Contact the Web site administrator if you believe you should be able to view this directory or page.
HTTP Error 403.6 - Forbidden: IP address of the client has been rejected.
Internet Information Services (IIS)
Technical Information (for support personnel)
* Go to Microsoft Product Support Services and perform a title search for the words HTTP and 403.
* Open IIS Help, which is accessible in IIS Manager (inetmgr), and search for topics titled About Security, Limiting Access by IP Address, IP Address Access Restrictions, and About Custom Error Messages.
I added the IP of the remote machine to IIS to allow access.

I have a Sonicwall hardware VPN, with hardware on both sides of the tunnel. Remote is 192.168.0.0. HQ is 172.25.25.0. Everything was fine before server rebuild.
Remote can RDP into server and then map a remote drive from the server.
When mapping, I use "log on with another name" with domain\username and password. I try with IP 172.25.25.110\sharename and \\bcc-server\sharename.
In that case, how did you get the error you listed in your original question and what does it have anything to do with IIS? I am confused.
Check to see if your server's firewall has exception for File and Printer sharing. usually that's the problem.
if that's not the case, you really need to clarify my question here.
