nvidia stop error with ati radeon card

When shutting down XP  pro gives stop error 0x000007e nv_agp.sys, but the computer has ati 7500 radeon in a pci slot. Also computer will reboot 2 or 3 times a day flashing BSOD stop error for a moment when restarting.
I checked power supply with tester, checked OK and ran memtest for 5 hours, also ok. cpu and power suppy fans running ok.
computer works ok except for shutting down and rebooting problem.

Any exclamations under Device Mgr?

I doubt its a driver conflict...

You need to uninstall your grpahics driver from device manager. When it prompts you whether to permanently remove all software etc you need to select YES. before doing this download the Latest Catalyst Driver from the ATi/AMD website. Sounds like there is a dll falling over thats why you are getting the sys output error.

See how that goes.

What chipset do you have on your motherboard? nv_agp.sys is part of the nForce chipset driver and is not part of nVidia GeForce video drivers.

Look in C:\Windows\minidump and see if there are any recent minidump files. Attach the last 2 to a comment after renaming with a .txt extension.

mobo is a7n8x v2. chip set nforce2 U400

i uninstalled MS video drivers and installed ati catalyst drivers, still got stop error on shutdown.

the minidump folder is empty

PS  this mobo does not have on board video. has ati radeon pci video card as stated in original question

I'll reiterate -- the faulting driver is a motherboard chipset driver not a video driver. Try installing the latest nVidia nForce chipset drivers for your chipset. This should be the correct driver: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_udp_winxp_5.10.html
