Browse All TopicsI can install .msi files, but when i try to run .exe files I get an error pop up message. this is the text:
umable to execute file in the temporary directory. Setup aborted. Error 5: access is denied.
i checked the permission on the administrative account in doccuments and settings (that is the account i am using to try and install) and I have sufficent acccess to the directorys and all subdirectories to write to folders. is ther another location that i need to be looking for a temp folder in?

Are you selecting the "Run" option straight from IE when you are trying to install these programs? If so, try saving the .exe to your desktop before running it.
Also, this temporary directory is... \Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Temp\
Check your permissions there.
