If you do not know the brand .... you can try identifying the hardware with Driver Detective.... It is constantly being updated: http://www.drivershq.com/
I use a different procedure (old school) ... I pull the part out (the ones I need to identify and look at the numbers, lets say for example, that I need to find the driver for the WiFi Ethernet card.... I pull out the card and start Goggling the chip numbers or any number on any of the labels.... I have done it for many years so I usually know immediately for which numbers to search for.....
Another way is to plug in a USB-Ethernet adapter that comes with a driver cd...(they are very cheap $19) ..... and start downloading the Windows updates...... It's amazing of how as you start getting closer to the SP3 in XP how windows does a great job all by itself at detecting the missing drivers....
You can look up the unknown devices here http://www.pcidatabase.com
For this ID pci/ven_1106&DEV_3106&SUBS
Vendor ID=1106=VIA and the DEVICE ID = 3106
The ethernet device is Rhine III PCI Fast Ethernet Controller.

The ethernet driver is the first one I'm looking for, in device manager it says
SYS_107180 89&REV_8B\ 4&16793A72 " under the properties
"pci/ven_1106&DEV_3106&SUB
