BSOD

Asked by jpertchik in Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory

I was changing a WinXP computer from one group in AD to another and messed up. Instead of right clicking the machine object and choosing "Move" I drag and dropped it to a different group even after seeing the warning about doing so. Yes that was unwise.

This is the BSOD that I got when I rebooted:

Stop: c0000218{Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive(file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent or not writable.

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical Memory dump complete.
Contact your system admin.........

Does anyone know a good fix for this one?

Thanks,

jpertchik
