Move software raid to hardware raid
Hello,
HP ProLiant MicroServer - Turion II Neo N40L
Storage Controller Controller Interface Type: Serial ATA-300 Form Factor: Integrated Installed Qty: 1 RAID Level: RAID 0 , RAID 1 Type: Serial ATA
Is there a way to go from a software Raid 1 on windows 2008 r2 to a hardware raid1. The system is already installed and is using compatibilty mode or (IDE). When selecting to enable the RAID or AHCI, the system starts booting into repair mode. After a couple of retries the system repair still doesn't boot up into windows. If it is changed back to compatibilty mode the system boots fine.
I'm trying to not loose any information. Don't want to reinstall and start all over from scratch. There has to be a simple solution to going from a dynamic software windows raid to a hardware without destroying data. Please help.

The answer is correct, you can't do this in-place w/o a scratch drive.
