setting up a failover print server

Asked by search5354 in Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2000 Operating System

We have a WIN2K print server which is making 50+ printers sharable.  This server has been crashing more and more frequent recently.  Our PC clients access network printers by using  this print server's shared printer drivers.

If we want to setup a standby print server to take over when this print server goes down.  Meaning client does have to re-map to another print server.  Without 3rd party failover solution, do you guys have any suggestion?
