How to disable NTLM in Windows 2003 server

How does one disable NTLM in Windows 2003 server? And is there any issues regarding disabling NTLM?

My SSL VPN router requires that NTLM be disabled for file sharing.

there is a ntlm security support provider service that can be disabled.  it shouldn't affect computers logging into your domain as that user kerberos.  only pre windows 2000 uses ntlm.  

other than in IIS it can also be disabled

jump into your poilicy (GPO) Under computer settings - windows settings - security settings - local policies - security options - network:

There is an NTLM policy there where you can specify not to use anything pre NTLM V2

so i run gpedit.msc and make the change to computer settings - windows settings - security settings - local policies - security options - network:NTLM policy?

yup yup, though if you want to effect all machines, you will need to do it in the default domain policy

if he only needs to disable it on that one server, i would think disabling the "ntlm security support" service and setting its startup type to disabled would work as well no?

So under domain security policy I would change this option?

Network security: LAN Manager authentication level

And what would I change it to? i.e.

Send NTLMv2 response only:
Send NTLMv2 response only\refuse LM:
Send NTLMv2 response only\refuse LM & NTLM
