INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

Hey all:

I'm hoping someone could help me with this issue.  I came into work today and one of my member servers had a Stop screen (BSOD).  The error was INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.  The box has Win 2000 Adv Server running on it.  I have two SCSI disks on it in a RAID 1 config.  Here are the questions I have:

1) How do I perform a check disk on the SCSI Drives?  I'm not sure if I remember the password for the Recovery Console.  If I don't is there a way I can still run it? Like maybe using a Win 98 disk to run scan disk?

2) If I went out and bought a SCSI controller, would I be able to add it to another machine, pull out the drives on this defunct machine, add it to another one and use that drive as a slave to pull data off?

I use a backup service, but I cannot pull the data unless the machine is up and running (the agent needs to be running on the machine to work...) so right now I'm pretty stuck...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
