Disjoin a Domain without being Connected To It

Asked by bchallm in Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Server

Tags: , ,

We have a server that was part of a domain that we disestablished.  We didn't unjoin the domain before disestablishing it.  We re-established the domain and called the domain the same name.  However, the server having the issues is looking for an old SID (almost needs permission from domain before unjoining it).  So we receive an error stating that we do not have access to disjoin the domain...and no, we cannot change it back to workgroup either.  It appears the server is looking for the domain for permission to unjoin.  We are logging in as a local Sys Admin.Start Free Trial
