frs  file rep service errors

Understanding frs and does it need to be enabled in a  single DC domain.    I believe i have the general understanding of FRS but is it really required in a single dc environment.  I'm showing errors concering it.  Unfortunately the solution of restoring the systems state through Backup exec 9 doesn't seem to work.    I new i should have made a systems state backup through ntbackup,  doooh!
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
