Browse All TopicsI have found some good old servers (mainframe) on Ebay on the cheap. I do not know if they are Windows capable. I believe they have proprietary IBM OS on instead. If you use these, can this type of server have Windows installed? I am looking at W2K for a specific purpose and need an older unit such as this 7038-6M2 unit

Hi,
those servers are not true 'mainframes' but Unix (AIX) servers.
No, you can't install windows on them.
In former times there was 'WABI' (Windows Applications Binary Interface), but that's long gone.
Sorry, no better news.
