I added 6 of the users to test and the computers didnt show up even after rebooting both the pc's and the server. So I added them manually!
My profile mappings are \\"servername"\Profiles\us
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsWe are replacing a server 2000 server with a server 2008 server. Because of issues with the old server we had to dcpromo the old server and leave no servers in domain then promote new server.1 server thats it no other servers in the domain.
We gave the new server the same domain as the old and that went fine! Got AD running, DNS and DHCP. Set up half a dozen users with profiles....
BUT now none of the profiles are updating (2 actually get to a desktop) ! and it comes up on 1 of them that the profile cant be found... 1 machine starts to log in and and just sits at loading user settings forever (waited an hour) And 2 others Can't find the domain and wont even try logging in. If I log in locally I can ping server by IP or FQDN and it resolves. What am I missing here! Do I need to remove machine from domain and put back in??? I am really afraid they wont rejoin and the one machine that sits at loading user settings I cant get to. Remember only 1 server hereThank you

Are the users aswell as the workstations shown in the AD ?
Otherwise I would suggest, remove the workstations from the domain and register again.
also look at the profile mappings of your users if they are correct.
