We have an intranet running on windows 2000 server.
One of the link published is pointing to PDF file. There is one user only that is having difficulty opening a pdf link. When he open the link using adobe acrobat 5, he gets this error 'unable to open this file is missing or cannot be found". But when he saves the file on this desktop, he can open the file.
Also when he clicks on the link the pop up window comes up then it ask either to 'open' , 'save' , or 'cancel'. The file type is showing as 'acrobat reader for activex'. But the problem does not happen if he click on the a link from a public internet website.
The client is running on windows xp w/ sp2 adobe acrobat reader 5
probably a browser issue - is it IE? try looking at the 'manage add-ons' under 'programs' tab of IE options. Look for pdf readers in there and disable/remove them then reinstall.
