First AD on Windows 2003

Hi Guys

Hope you can help me out here?

I wI will try and keep it breif!!


(1) I have installed a windows 2003 Advanced Server.I have a NIC and a hub, this is a stand alone server and I have no other computers at the moment, I will add XP clients later.

(2) Installed DNS using the DNS Wizard so I have an IP address of 169.254.40.235 and the DNS IP is the same.The domain name is "power.local" and a netbios name of "powers".

(3) Installed Active Directory.

When I try to access Active Directory Users and Computers I get the following  error message

"naming information cannot be located for the following reason"
"The Server is not operational"

I have tried uninstalling DNS and active directory many many times with no luck.I have also tried a loopback adaptor and I still have the same issues.

Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue.Start Free Trial
