Hello,
I've run into a resolution issue. I'm running Windows 2003 Server as part of AD. Users VPN in using Routing and Remote Access (RARA). The problem is, I've noticed some users experiencing issues resolving the server computer name since DNS lists 2 different A records IP addresses for the same server name. And Outlook gets confused. In the meantime, I started to hard code the IP/name for the Exchange Server into each client's hosts file, and then decided to simply delete the extra A record. I'm afraid it's going to come back when that IP registers itself, so anyone know how to disable this IP (part of RARA) from listing in DNS instead of having to maintain the hosts files on client's computers?
Within RARA, under IP Routing and General, if I right click and select IP Addresses, I see 4 IP address listed below. Yet, the visible windows only shows 3 interfaces (127.0.0.1, 192.168.80.112, & 192.168.80.8)
