I have read the articles and found incomplete answers. &nbsp;I am wondering if there is a way to ONLY modify the netbios portion of my domain name in my native mode windows 2003 AD system. &nbsp;Note that Exchange 2003 with SP1 is installed.<br />

I would hate to go through whole exercise of MSFT's domain rename tool because my entire domain is just fine... I just hate the pre-windows 2000 netbios name and am sick of seeing it everywhere. &nbsp;Any advice? &nbsp;I prefer answers only from people who have done this before? &nbsp;Thanks.

Change netbios domain name in AD on windows 2003 server

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server.
