Model 2200S - Thanks - that sounds about right, can't see any problems other than in the event log. Holding out high hopes for SP1 though, it is set to solve 4 or 5 other problems I've run across also.

Browse All TopicsHi,
I have just started getting the message 'The device, \Device\Scsi\aac1, did not respond within the timeout period' through in the events logs of my server - it is running SBS 2003 Premum with a Raid 5 Array with a hot spare. The Adaptec Storage Manager doesn't seem to think there's a problem. Can anyone shed some light on this one?
Thanks,
Stewart.

Adaptec AIC-7901, on board Single-Channel PCI-X to Ultra 320 SCSI on INTEL Server Board SE7210TP1-E/SCSI causing fatal errors during SBS 2003 integrated set up. Any suggestions for by-passing the Adaptec chip (no driver available for SBS 2003) and substituting another SCSI Single Channel RAID Card (or other work-around) that will do the trick?

This is a driver issue and I think it will be corrected in SP1 of Windows Server 2003.
