The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Win SB 2003 Server - everyone outside can see comp except for 1 ip

Hi Experts,

I setup a small bus/ win 2k3 server(72.9.253.122) in Atlanta and i CAN access the servers websites, email, ftp, rdc, etc.
The server seems to be getting normal web traffic, with the exception of the users at my main office in Tulsa. It seems the whold outside world can access it except for them.

They are behind a Linksys router, and cannot ping the new server in Atlanta. If they do a traceroute it makes about 12 hops and then it times out after 65.254.48.2 which is the final stop right before my server. I know this is the last stop because when i ping the web server its the last hop for me as well before the server, but my traceroute finds the server, theres doesn't. They seem to be able to access other web sites normally. They went next door and used another businesses computer and accessed the Atlanata server with no problems just as everyone else seems to be.

I have not specifically setup anything to block them. The one thought i had was that it may have been an active directory issue as i am new to using it. In Tulsa they have a win2K server for there internal network and it is called ivie-ent, which also happens to be the same as the web server domain in Atlanta (ivie-ent.com) which is the forest root. Note: These domains are not linked or anything and are meant to be totally seperate entities.DNS also seems to be setup ok, my DNS settings on the web server are not referencing them in anyway. I had them take out the ivie-ent domain setting from there router thinking that maybe the web server is blocking that ip becuase of a conflict domains.

I am at a total loss to why this would be happening. Any suggestions?
