I have installed server 2003 onto a compaq 510SFF with 1.7mhz Celron 20gb harddisk and 512mb ram. It got all the way through the installation process. I left it updating the network section which it does in installation processes. When I cam back it had rebooted noting strange there Excepted that it keeps rebooting when the windows 2003 logo apears. I took both the memory simms out and change them in case they where causing the problem no luck. I tried to repair the installation but that did not work.
Before I try rebuilding it from scratch again does anyone have any Ideas.

i wouldnt have thought there would be anything in the event loggs the correct services wouldnt have started, you could try booting to recovery console, and trying the chkdsk function just to check you hard disk is ok as a first, ive had this problem and the hard disk was knackered. chkdsk will soon tell you.
help /? will give you all the commands you can use at the recovery console
you can press f8 and then enable boot logging. this will create a boot log file containing list of all the steps windows tries to complete at bootup and after each step it will write the status.

bad ram or disk,
download memory tester from www.simmtester.com and create the test disk. boot the computer with this and it will test all your ram. it might take a while though.
once this comes up clean, i will suggest you to go to hard disk manufactuer's site and download the diag util.
most have diag utils that will test your complete disk surface for errors.

Can you boot into safe mode? Then check the event log.
If not, I would just rebuild....you might have a hardware conflict/problem.
