Browse All TopicsHi,
I want to add a disclaimer to Exchange Server 2003 . I know about KB articles 317327 & 317680 which shows the mechanics of implementing an event sink, but these solutions do not work for MAPI Clients (ie Outlook). I have been told there is a way to work around this by setting up a second SMTP server and getting the exchange server to forward all emails through the second server, which then adds the disclaimer. Has anyone had any experience of this, or can anyone give any help in setting this up?
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for postings.
This is an ongoing project which has been on the back burner due to other work. The use of third party tools was not really an option and I specifically asked for help in the option of setting up a second SMTP server. GFI will probably due the job but it wasn't what I asked for. For this reason I will accept Kshays answer but only with a grade of B

That's ok. At least it wasn't a "C".
I still believe you are going to have a tough time writing or hard coding the disclaimer into the exchange 2003 system without a 3rd party tool such as GFI. I've seen where a few people have tried, but they were unsucessful though.
As for setting up a 2nd exchange server why spend all that money on the server and software when you can just buy a 3rd party addon such as GFI for a few hundred bucks?
Good Luck,
Kshays
