Problem demoting Windows 2003 SB Server from Domain Controller role

I ran dcpromo.exe to demote this Windows 2003 SB Server to simply a stand alone server. However, it has been stuck at a part saying : Removing LDAP and remote procedure call (RPC) access to Active Directory for over two hours. It appears to be processing but it just seems like it is taking a very long time. This is a new server that has never been used and has no accounts configured in it. Any ideas?

Is it the last DC in the forest?
Have all FSMO roles been seized or transfered appropriately?

oBdA was correct, trying to manipulate Active Directory roles of the SBS 2003 server was a complete nightmare. I would recommend to anyone concerned that if you are planning on using SBS 2003 that you dont plan on having any other domain controllers.
