oBdA was correct, trying to manipulate Active Directory roles of the SBS 2003 server was a complete nightmare. I would recommend to anyone concerned that if you are planning on using SBS 2003 that you dont plan on having any other domain controllers.<br />

I ran dcpromo.exe to demote this Windows 2003 SB Server to simply a stand alone server. However, it has been stuck at a part saying : Removing LDAP and remote procedure call (RPC) access to Active Directory for over two hours. It appears to be processing but it just seems like it is taking a very long time. This is a new server that has never been used and has no accounts configured in it. Any ideas?<br />

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server.
