You actually got lucky, For your information this question had Microsofts Active Directory team going round in circles, and without an answer, It has been left to be resumed on Monday. You actually have solved the problem, we have been using Microworlds eScan products and the File Access settings were active and preventing this. Feature has been disabled, and hey presto - Were in business. An easy 500 points, but well earned! A1

Unless it's a Server 2003 R2 installation, this is not a native Server 2003 feature. This might be a virus scanner; McAfee, for example, allows to define rules that will block certain extensions from being written to certain locations. Seems like this is the case here.
