Kind of new to the AD scheme in terms of trusts, etc. We have a Win2003 server infrastructure with, say Domain1 on IP subnet 192.168.1.0 . We'd like to set up a "test" network on the same physical segment, however we'd like to use a seperate domain name and subnet, say: "TestDomain" and 192.168.8.0, for example. Is this possible? And if so, is it possible to keep it out of the way of the our existing domain/subnet? I guess what I'm saying is, we don't want the two networks to communicate, however we really would like to use the same physical segment.
Thanks for any info.

You'll be fine byy doing that. The fact that you'll have them on a different subnet will keep the machines from communicating with each other.
Also, don't put two DHCP servers for two different subnets on the same physical segment. Any machines on the test network will need manually configured IP addresses though. If you don't, your DHCP server will give them ip addresses for your production system.
