Are your profiles roaming or local?

If they are roaming, first check that your machine can actually connect to the server that hosts the profiles share. What are the share permissions on your profile share? Share permissions should be everyone-full control and ntfs permissions should be the default ones. This will make them able to actually create a profile folder in the share but only have access to theirs. If you only shared out the share using default permissions then they would only have read on the share and that would not be adequate. If that does not work, make sure the path to the profiles share in the user account is correct and using a unc path not a local path. eg. \\server\profileshare\%use
