Question

CONGRATULATIONS! Jay_Jay70 & TheCleaner our 2 new Sages

Asked by: alimu

i know i know... I'm very slow and all.. the Congratulations thread may be a little late in coming but it's here now and you are all invited to post your comments, thanks and general applause below :)

I'd like to extend my congratulations to 2 of our most visible Experts this year - Jay_Jay70 and TheCleaner who have both reached the hallowed rank of Sage in the Windows Server 2003 Topic Area.

Jay_Jay70 reached the 500,000 points mark on the 7th June 2006
James has been a member of EE since 2004 but only really started regularly participating in questions late last year.  Since then he's helped out in quite a few topic areas and has 1 Sage, 1 Wizard, 2 Guru and 1 Master certificate in network and OS Topic Areas across the site.

TheCleaner reached it one day later on the 8th June 2006 and now has 1 Sage and 1 Master certificate.
A member since 2002, we only seemed to have hooked TheCleaner into answering questions in the last year as well.  Whatever the reason we're glad it happened :)

This is the first Sage Certificate for both of these Experts and both have made a huge contribution to EE, not only in graciously dispensing advice to those in need, but also making a huge dent in the number of abandoned questions on the site by assisting with the Cleanup effort.  Any of you who have been around for more than a year will notice that the number of questions in this topic area has dropped from around 40 pages down to just 12 thanks to wonderful people like these volunteering their time and effort.

Thank you to both of you for your hard work and thank you for making this Topic Area what it is.

Thank you muchly :) It's a bit of fun this site, slightly addictive and full of lunatics such as myself, and others who i won't name, but its been an awesome few months, amazing how small the world can become when you get to chat to some of the brightest people in the world.......doesn't seem so daunting anymore :)

Congrats to TheCleaner as well, been nice chatting to ya throughout the year. This site constantly astounds me at the depth of knowledge of the experts and their willingness to share it out of nothing but good will, very impressive and inspiring!

Alimu, our Aussie Lads just made it through to the seond round! wooooooohooooooo! Up the Socceroos!

by: alimuPosted on 2006-06-23 at 03:13:18ID: 16967532

woohoo!! :))  I'm still suffering the after effects of getting up before sunrise to see the game - being such a morning person and all.  Seeing us make round 2 was definitely worth the bleary eyes and the amount of caffeine I had to ingest to make it through the day today.  (didn't see much commentary about the blues from you after the last round *laughing*)

by: Jay_Jay70Posted on 2006-06-23 at 03:17:46ID: 16967550

ah yes, that was one of those things i choose to forget.....was just an embarrassment ....lol!...we were just buttering you guys up for next weeks flogging!

i don't think i have downed so many litres of coffee in one day either, had a BBQ at 5.00am! the things we do.....

by: AnnieModPosted on 2006-06-23 at 03:38:31ID: 16967633

This remind me how we were staying awake till 4 am in 1994 to see our guys while they were playing in USA... :) This time it is closer, but we are not there....
Congrats for Australia :)

by: Jay_Jay70Posted on 2006-06-23 at 04:19:41ID: 16967850

It's our first time so its kind of exciting that we made it out of Australia......i havent seen a sport rise as quickly as soccer has in Australia in the last 12 months, its become massive in such a short time, pity our goal keeper is lets say, .......questionable  hehe!

by: AnnieModPosted on 2006-06-23 at 04:22:54ID: 16967876

:)) questionable ? OK... if you say so :)
We made it to the semi-final in 1994 for the first time so I know the feeling :)
I really would like to see Australia beating Italy :)

:)

ah me too, we lost our best player unfortuately so hopefully we can still put up a decent fight.......no doubt i will be making crack comments if we win, and if not, then i will be unusually silent and simply refuse to talk! ha! what happened to your team this year Annie?

by: AnnieModPosted on 2006-06-23 at 06:20:27ID: 16968697

Nothing... we lost the qualifications... we did not even made the barages...
We changed the generations and... did some stupid things.  Typically for us actually... :)
As for Australia - I really wish you luck and success...

alimu,

Ooops... sorry for getting this thread in another direction :)

by: TheCleanerPosted on 2006-06-23 at 07:07:18ID: 16969258

LOL,  I just noticed this thread because I saw an email from Alimu saying a "member comment has been added" and so I click on my profile and look and never bothered to scroll down, so I was like "umm...ok, no I idea what you've done, but thanks."

Thanks a lot for the recognition...this site is a great resource for all involved and I'm proud to be a part of it.

by: alimuPosted on 2006-06-23 at 07:28:37ID: 16969458

> pity our goal keeper is lets say, .......questionable  hehe!
yeah Kalac is copping it a bit.  I prefer Schwarzer but think they used Kalac in this particular game because of his height (Croatian opposition pretty tall).  A draw is good enough but a straight win would have been icing on the cake.
I'm just stoked we've made it this far considering it's our first time - making it to round 2 is a bonus :)

>Ooops... sorry for getting this thread in another direction :)
um... yeah.. me too :))  sorry everyone.

>an email from Alimu saying a "member comment has been added"
*should've* had a url to this question in it but there you go.   You deserve the recognition.  We're all volunteers and it's nice to have people say thankyou every once in a while, particularly when you've put in so much work (and of such high quality - both of you).

cheers!

I'll add my apologies as well, just exciting sport going on at the moment :) should have been a straight win, but the ref has magic mickey mouse goggles and is confused with the rules of rugby Vs Soccer...!

Thanks again for this post, it was really nice of you put this up

by: rpggamergirlPosted on 2006-06-30 at 21:41:24ID: 17022356

Happy Birthday! :)

Nah, that's not old! I think that's the best age group. No ground rules to follow, you're your own boss unless you have a wife/husband that bosses you around! lol.

You're young and fit enough to do things like bungee jumping, rock climbing, parachuting etc. They said life begins at 40, well we haven't lived yet, lol

Looking at your profile and wish I were you, :)

Have fun TheCleaner! may you have everything you wished for, :)

by: alimuPosted on 2006-07-01 at 00:58:04ID: 17022825

31 is not old (I may be in denial as that's what I'll be turning next year :)  )
Happy Birthday!
