try adding the computer name to the AD.<br />
in the AD add a new computer the a container of your choice then try joing the computer to the domain.

I am trying to join a Windows XP Pro machine to a Windows 2003 domain. &nbsp;I have full admin rights.<br />

Hello Experts!

I am trying to join a Windows XP Pro machine to a Windows 2003 domain.  I have full admin rights.

Every time I try, I get the following error:

Computer Name Changes

The following error occured attempting to join the domain "DomainNameHere":

The specified server cannot perform the requested operation.

Any ideas?  I've changed the name of the WinXP PC and that has done no good.
