How would I go about adding a host to my DNS database so that everyone can see it?

open the DNS manager on your computer, add an A record for the host

So if everyone cannot see this, is there something wrong with the DNS?

if you added the A record and others who point to your server cannot see it then there may be something wrong.

try doing a NSLOOKUP from one of the clients and see if it can resolve the entry
