The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Terminal Server/Great Plains/Printers

Asked by dhav79 in Windows 2003 Server

Tags: printers, terminal, server, great, plains

I am running terminal services on a windows server 2003 (SERVER 1) which is located in New Jersey.  I have remote users from New York, whom normally login to the terminal services through Remote Desktop.  The windows server 2003 currently is the gateway to Microsofts Dynamics Great Plains (Finanical Software).

Normal:
(User 1 is using windows xp home and User 2 is using window xp pro)

USER 1 and 2 are able to login to SERVER 1 and are able to print invoices from great plains to their local printer.  (When these remote user are logged into SERVER 1 all the local printers become populated in the Printers and Faxes section of SERVER 1.  And when they disconnect the local printers disappear from the Printers and Faxes section of SERVER 1.  This is acceptable!

Situation:

USER 3 is using Windows XP Professional and is able to logon to the terminal server but can not print invoices to their local printer nor does the local printer become populated in the printers and faxes section of SERVER 1.  The only way that USER 1 can print is if either USER 1 or USER 2 is connected to the terminal server.

I need user 3 to be able to print locally.  this is a very serious problem because USER 3 deals with accounting and they need to print out invoices for the company to run efficiently.  Please help or Im lost!
