I'd like to be able to move profiles around from computer to computer without transfering those normally bloated directories, and I would like to backup/ghost drives without those directories as well without having to deselect each of those in each user's profile in Local Settings.
I am aware of how to move these manually through environment variables and Internet Explorer Settings, but I woiuld like to find a way to do this through GPO or IEAK/CIW so that it would affect everyone from now on without any intervention.
I am also aware of the "Cache" key in the registry under "User Shell Folders" for Temporarily Internet Files. Is this the best way to do this? and if so, what is the best way to implement it domain-wide?

have you looked at creating a custom policy that roles out those reg settings? there are a couple of custom tools for doing this, one creating an ADM file based on the reg key with the NUTS package (http://yizhar.mvps.org/) or (http://support.microsoft. com/defaul t.aspx?sci d=kb;EN- US ;q323639)t he other is using this add on for GPO to control the registry (http://www.desktopstandar d.com/ Poli cyMakerReg istryExten sion.aspx)
