How to convert SID to a user name?
How do you convert a SID to a username? We're having an issue where the SID shows up instead of the user name in the Disk Quota panel. So in order to increase a users disk space we need to convert the SID to the user name. The server os is Windows 2003. Previously we didn't have this problem. If someone can explain why something like this would occur I'll increase the point total.
I have SysInternals getsid utility. This will allow me to put to convert the user name to the SID, but I'd like to convert the SID to the username.
Thanks

Thanks, didn't this used to exist out on SysInternals site?
I think you are right. It was a useful tool, so M$ probably got rid of it (:
the above will convert SID/Username info for you. (Both ways)
Typically, the reason for the computer to not show the names, is because it hasn't communicated to the domain controller to determine the names of the SID. Is your 2003 system set as a global catalog server?
