term serv will redirect printers including previously mapped ones....you may want to disable this in the rdp properties of the users, or through group policy
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have printers shared on my server. Users map to them fine. When they send a print job to one (DEFAULT), it creates a shared printer with same name with session1 at the end. Kind of like a temp print spool for the job. Rather than go away after job has printed, it stays in the shared printers list. If someone goes to map a printer that second printer is in the list and could be mapped as the orginal shared printer with the exception the it says its a session1 printer at the end. If this is in fact a temp printer for the job sent why does it not go away after. It does this for each job so I may have for example shared printer(my orginal), shared printer session1, shared printer session2, etc. etc.
I have seen as many as 15 printers shared for the same printer and they can be mapped by users. Only seen this in 2003. Has anyone come accross this and how do you stop it????

NOt using TS and have only what is enabled by install default. I will look at user properties as well. Not ever seen this and was wondering if patch broke things. Multipe instances are being created on an existing network now and a new network that is not connected in anyway to the network mentioned above. Standard install and no TS being used.
