The Solution Rating System

  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Server 2003 AD wont replicate after installing ISA 2006 Server

Hi there,

After installing ISA Server 2006 on a domain controller (dc2) (this was neccecary due to circumstances unfortunally), replication between the 2 only domain controllers seems to fail.

From dc 1 to dc 2 fails.
From dc 2 to dc 1 succeeds only if initiated from dc2. When u login to dc1 and initiate replication from dc2 to dc1 it fails.

In the firewall log i see:

protocol: Unindentified IP traffic denied, from Internal to Localhost
I also see:
RPC (All Interfaces) Failed connection attempt. From localhost to internal

I have created a rule at top of the list stating:

Allow all ip-traffic, from localhost/internal ---> to localhost/internal.

Still no success.

Whats the trick for allowing flawless ad replication on a windows 2003 R2 domain controller with ISA server 2006 installed?

The replication error is:

The following error occured during the attempt to syncrhronize naming context domain.local from domain controller DC1 to domain controller DC2. The RPC Server is unavailable.

I have tried configuring rules that allow every possible rule there is but it just wont work. I have a single network card setup within ISA 2006, i'm only planning to use it as a users proxy server not as a firewall.Start Free Trial
