Extend the Windows 2003 AD Schema to Windows 2003 R2

Hi!
We are going to extend the Windows 2003 AD Schema to Windows 2003 R2. We do not intend to do an upgrade of the 2 existing windows 2003 DC servers but add a new Windows 2003 R2 domain controller. Can i extend the AD schema while users are logged in to the directory or do i have to take the server "offline" in any way before doing the "adprep /forestprep"? I have moved the schema master role to a server with almost no load to make it easier to do the upgrade...(?). Am i right here?Start Free Trial
