Hi guys,
This isnt so much a question as a general discussion.
I am just getting everyones opinions on what tools a tech should carry with them when visiting clients, this is not including any service packs, that come and go.
I will start the list and am interested to see what others add.
The points will be split with all who contribute. Please indicate if you can a source location and also if is free or not.

If the licensing works, I would agree, use McAfee Command Line.

thats a great list. Not sure on the licencing on McAfee, we use it on a cd that we have scripted in the workshop to create a helth check, basically in the workshop we can put in a blank cd and click on a button that launches a script that downloads the latest dats, and updates pestpatrol then creates a Bart pe boot cd that auto runs, when put into a pc it gives no user control, displays a progress window, and scans for virus's, and pests. It doesnt clean any but rather reports them all to a log file on the c drive. we can then advise the client from the log of the current state and up sell them "decent" antivirus and spyware.

VNC is a little dodgy :) get a hold of dameware mini remote - its about 30 bux and kicks ass

just a last minute thought was ethereal, packet sniffer.
Neat product if your right into low level network stuff, lots of things i dont know much about ;)
I just had to use it the other day to find the IP for an ADSL router that had been configured on an ip outside our network subnet, after trying to gues the range and use angry ip to discover, it was great to fire this up and power reset the device, and bang there it was and displaying its IP.

System Information for Windows (SIW) http://www.gtopala.com/ Great for auditing a computer. Reports everything including software licence keys. Very handy if you ever have to reinstall
