Moving mailboxes from SBS 2003 to Exchange 2007

Hello,

I am having some issues moving mailboxes from an existing SBS to a new windows server 2003 machine running exchange 2007.  I am trying to move a mail box using the following command (items in <> represent local names):
Move-Mailbox -TargetDatabase "<target server>\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database" -Identity <mailbox> -SourceForestGlobalCatalog <GC> -SourceForestCredential $SourceCredential -TargetForestCredential $TargetCredential

Credentials have been set using Get-Credential and are using the administrator account.

The error I recieve is "An Active Directory error 0x51 occurred when trying to check server '<GC>' suitability: 'The LDAP server is unavailable.'".

How might I go about correcting this error?  Is there an easier way to move mailboxes to a new exchange server in a new domain?

Thanks.

Well I would suggest to move mailbox using EMC in exchange server 2007.

I would also prefer to use the EMC; however, when trying to move a mailbox I am unable to specify the new exchange server as the target (Server dropdown is greyed (no options avalable). Possibly due to the current domain configuration?  Any sugestions here would be appreciated as well.
Try using move mailbox through ESM/ADUC on the Exchange 2003 server. If you are unable to do so there, then you have a more serious problem. The GUI tools should work, switching to Powershell will not change that. With EMC on E2007 it simply runs a powershell script in the background anyway.

A more serious problem is certainly a possibility.  We currently have an older machine running SBS 2003 and would like to replace it.  I have set up a new server with DNS, AD, and Exchange 2007.  The new server and domain are working (users can log on to the domain, new mailboxes send and recieve mail).  I would like to move the existing mailboxes from the old SBS machine on the old domain to this new machine and pretend like the old server never existed (perhaps more of a disaster recovery type transfer).  Do I need to to configure Active directory on the new machine in any special way?  If so, what will the implications be if the old server is then taken offline?
