Just a quick word to pick your brains if you have actually done this previously.
We have a 2003 domain with an inhouse 2003 exchange which you use messagelabs as our smarthost.
We are awaiting messagelabs response on the following so it may be futile asking the question anyway.
Ive being informed that we need to start sending out mail shots to existing customers approx 10,000,
and to make matters worse during business hours as well,
I wanted to do it over night, well not all if the truth be known I wanted to use a third party.
The powers that be are reluctant to use a third party even though I explained about the added load on the exchange server and the possibility of blacklisting (which is why we've contacted messagelabs as we route everything through them).
The 10,000 emails will be going too completely differant domains, ie our customers are all members of the public, home users.
If you have done this previously what is your recommended way to TRY and reduce the load on the exchange server using the Outbound connections on the SMTP or do you have a differant recommendation.
Ive got a feeling this could end up being a regular event maybe once a month, at the moment its just a one off though.
