The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

DNS problem

Asked by henryk123 in Windows 2003 Server, Active Directory, Domain Name Service (DNS)

Hello,
I have small network 30 workstations and 5 servers (windows 2003 server).
Few weeks ago I tried configure remote access on the second NIC in my domain controler.
I wasn't good idea. All network holds and server changed DNS. After that I disbled second NIC in mu DC controler and deleted from DNS any strange IPs. Now, almost everything is ok. Some problems:
-  I have two workstations where I have big delay if I connect to our ERP system. All another workstations work fine. (I renewed DNS on these workstation but stll is the same, I used ipconfig /flushdns, ipconfig /renewdns) Can I use the same commands on DC controler ? It is safe ? If I use these commands on server I have to do net stop netlogon and net start netlogon ?
- form time to time I have on DC server in even viewer log - error from NETLOGON ("dynamic registration aor deregistration on or more DNS records failed with the folowing errors, No DNS Servers configured for local systems). What I did ? I used ndiag.exe on cmd mode on server. Everything is ok. No errors.
- if I use nslookup in the DNS console on DC server I see: "Can't find server name for address 192.168.......
Non- existent domain, Default server Unknown"  - I can ping DNS server by name and by IP address, No problems from any workstations and servers.
Thx for help
Henry
