The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Groupwise and Netware 4.11 Email Servers

OK,

This question follows on from
http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Server/2003_Server/Q_22679200.html

I decided to post a new question specifically relating to email servers like Groupwise and wanted to focus on this deployment

The setup is as follows

Current Situation -

Netware 4.11 Network running IPX with IP over the top
2 Netware 4.11 Servers for Filesharing (they never die, so I'm not going to replace them)
5-6 Windows Servers (2003) 2-3 Boxes running 1-2 VM Servers
Servers have an AD domain on them but the XP clients aren't joined to the domain
75-100 XP clients

I need to install an email server (preferably not Exchange) that allows the email to be synchronised between the clients and servers to enable email backup and possibly hotdesking (just a thought at present)

I've chosen Groupwise as my preferred email server.

I now have some of the XP clients joined to the domain and syncing that using MSDSS to our Netware 4.11 network.

That works very well.

The issue I have with Groupwise is that it needs ConsoleOne and eDirectory to function properly.

That then requires changes to our Netware setup which I am reluctant to do until I can prove that the solution does everything that I am looking for.

I have 1 more server that I can play with in eval (as I'll buy dedicated hardware once I've proven the solution) so I can install 1 more Server OS

All admin is done on the Netware 4.11 tree (creating users etc) and I need to synch it automatically.

I think I'm going to have to try ShineOn's not recommended solution of synching across 3 servers, but would appreciate some more guidance about how get that done properly.

Max points again....thanks every one for their helpStart Free Trial
