Exchange 2003, GFI, Incoming Email Problem

First off, I am very new to exchange, so this problem might be easy to fix!?

I attempted to install GFI mail essentials (http://www.gfi.com/mes/) on a Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server that is running Windows Small Business Server 2003. During the install it asked if I wanted to install Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) and I said yes, Then it installed and asked if I wanted to restart the SMTP service, I said yes. I checked after the install completed and the SMTP service was in a state of broken, stuck on stopping. I rebooted the server and checked and I had no incoming or outgoing emails. I very quickly uninstalled GFI, and MSMQ and this is where I stand. I seem to have no problem with outgoing email and email within the domain but no email from the outside seems to get to the user's in-box's, But I do not get any bounces. Can anyone help?
