SCOM 2007 Discovery Hanging
I've inherited a SCOM 2007 root management server (no others in place yet) that was built two weeks ago. It's actively monitoring 5 DCs at the moment but I'm having trouble with any subsequent Discovery.
Basically I run the Discovery wizard - have tried both Automatic and Advanced - and it will verify discovered computers can be contacted within seconds but the status indicator on the wizard will just sit there ticking over forever. Nothing ever shows up in Pending Management.
SQL databases (ops and reporting) are on a separate server.
The account I am logged in with has domain admin rights and the Opsmgr config service is running under the action account which should also have more than adequate permissions through to the domain. OpsMgr Health Service is running under Local System.
It shouldn't make a difference to this particular issue since I don't ever get that far but I have Manual Agent Installs set to "Review new manual agent installations in pending management view" switched on, with Auto-approval switched off.

additional note - Manually installed agents show up within Pending Management within an hour.

Discovery does not end until you cancel the wizard. No errors are generated on screen or in the event logs (if there's somewhere else I should check let me know).
