Are you trying to copy/paste full files or just the contents of the clipboard?

Full files you have to allow local drive mapping in TS Configuration.  They then have to save files to their mapped local drive.
If you just want to enable clipboard sharing enable clipboard mapping in TS Configuration.

Trying to copy full files from one desktop to the other.  I have checked both boxes for mapping and for the clipboard but still can't copy and paste.

You cannot copy full files - you have to use the drives that are mapped.  Or do you mean that this is the feature that isn't working?

Thank you - Ideally the team would like to drag and drop but when you say mapping - Am I to map the client c drive to the terminal server on connection or vice a versa?  example of how to map this would help.  I have mapped drives on both the clients and the terminal server now but not each other.

Within the Remote Desktop connection the "My Computer" will list several drives named similar to:

C  on CLIENTNAME.
The only requirement is drive mapping be enabled on the RDP connection and drive mapping is enabled under the Remote Desktop Options (Local Resources/Local Devices/More)

by: fwecoadminPosted on 2007-09-04 at 15:19:52ID: 19828917

On Remote desktop I am not getting any drive mapping on the client, only the mapping for the server.  Drive mapping is enabled on the RDP connection and on the remote desktop option to allow mapping of local drives on connection.

For clipboard redirection there is a Group Policy "Do not allow clipboard redirection" make sure this is not enabled.
------------------------------
Description for this policy :
-------------------------------
Disables the sharing of clipboard contents ("clipboard redirection") between Terminal Servers and client computers in a Terminal Services session.

Drive redirection is enabled by default along with clipboard, printers and smart cards. Additionally no pop-up exists to warn the user that clipboards, drive, and printers are redirected on connection.

Windows Server 2003 virtual channels permission setting affects clipboard and audio redirection, as well as third party virtual channels, which are handled by TERMDD.SYS on the server. This setting does not prevent Com port, Print, Smart Card or Drive redirection. However, these redirection features can be disabled using group policy.

Virtual Channel Permissions
----------------------------------
Permissions to utilize capabilities introduced through virtual channels can be set in the Terminal Server Client Configuration tool.
To access the virtual channels permissions perform the following steps:
1.Open the Terminal Services Configuration snap-in under Administrative Tools.
2.Right Click on the RDP-Tcp connection under Connections in the right hand pane.
3.Choose the Permissions tab.
4.Select Advanced.
5.Select the group or account you wish to control and chose View/Edit.
6.Allow or Deny virtual channels as shown below.

Also on the Terminal Server RDP-TCP listner properties under Tscc.msc snap-in.
Under Disable the following make sure Clipboard mapping should be unchecked.

Regards,
Nikhil

Check the Terminal Services policies both in Group Policy, if you are a domain, and on local policy.  Local drive mapping can be enabled/disabled from both of those locations.
