Max memory

Asked by imagex in Windows 2003 Server, SBS Small Business Server

Tags: , , ,

I need to know if the memory limt for Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 is based on the host os like 2003 std that supports 4gig memory, or if  my server has 8gig of memory can Virtual Server 2005 R2 make use of the extra 4 gig that the host os cant use? I already have a server with 8 gig of ram so I need to find a way to make use of it. Also the end result I'm going for is to use VM servers to make swaping hardware easer and to run a sbs 2003 and a 2003 std server for TS. I have looked into xen open sorce but it says its not for production windows server. Thanks for any input.Start Free Trial
