Group Policy Windows XP Firewall Exemptions

Asked by ozzalot in Windows 2003 Server

Tags: firewall, program, xp, exemption

We have a Win 2K3 DC and Windows XP clients.

I need to add program and port exemptions to Windows Firewall on client computers for ETrust AV.  In GPO editor under Admin Templates -> Network -> Network Connections -> Windows Firewall there are two profiles.  One is Standard Profile and the other is Domain Profile. I'm not sure in which profile to make the changes.  Are standard profiles local profiles on the client computer?  I'm guessing the change should be in Domain profile so the changes affect domain users on the computer, but i'm not sure. Could you guys give some advice?Start Free Trial
