Hi experts.
Some months ago, I tried to configure a trust relationship between two domains that belongs to the same organization. That time I did't finish the process because the servers never was able to estabilish a "secure channel". As I was only "testing" the solution, I decided to try harder when it was really necessary.
So, now I really need to implement this and, after some tests, the secure channel could not be estabilished again... The server say that there is no "Logon server avaiable on the domain".
Each domain have only a DC server, and this DC server is running the same version of Windows 2003 Server, with the same Service Pack. Also, each domain in linked by a Site-to-Site VPN handled by a Firewall Box where ISA Server 2004 is installed.
Also, on the firewall there is a rule that allow all traffic between the two networks. This was done to avoid interferences from the firewall on the process. When trying to estabilish the channel, I also monitored ISA Servers to see if any packet is being denied, but this didn't happen.
Both DC servers are able to resolve the other domain by DNS. Also, each DC server can ping the other domain DC with no propblems. All the times that I tried to configure the trust, I need to enter do full qualified domain name on the assistant. I noticed that I'm also able to use netbios name, but, the servers was not able to resolve each other using netbios.
Each domain have a WINS server installed and running, but, I didn't do any aditional configuration on any WINS server. The WINS service runs on the same server as the DC.
Now, there is a detail that i don't know if may be interfering on the process...
Still each domain has distinct netbios names, both servers have the same netbios name. Ex:
Domain 1:
DNS Name: domain1.com
NETBIOS: DOMAIN1
DC Server DNS Name: Netserver01.domain1.com
DC Server NETBIOS Name: NETSERVER01
Domain 2:
DNS Name: domain2.com
NETBIOS: DOMAIN2
DC Server DNS Name: Netserver01.domain2.com
DC Server NETBIOS Name: NETSERVER01
Could anybody please help me to solve this problem?
Thanks a lot!
