we have a shared folder on our windows 2003 server(using NTFS permissions) and have setup permissions for users to have READ access to the files in that folder. We want the ability for the users to only read these files but not be able to copy the file to their desktop. I am pretty sure that if we give READ permissions for a user for a particular file then that user will be able to copy it to his machine. You cannot stop someone from copying the file with READ permissions - is this correct? And if so,does anyone know of a solution?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
