Hello,
For what it sounds like you want to do,
Once you've created your VPN connection by the the normal means in the GUI, just create a shortcut for
C:\Windows\System32\rasdia
and add in your connection details.
Usage:
RASDIAL.EXE entryname [ username [ password | * ]] [ /DOMAIN:domain ] [ /PHONE:phonenumber ] [ /CALLBACK:callbacknumber ] [ /PHONEBOOK:phonebookfile ] [ /PREFIXSUFFIX ]
RASDIAL.EXE [ entryname ] /DISCONNECT
RASDIAL.EXE

wouldnt you be better off with IPSEC tunnel. pptp is not as secure and has to be initialized. read over this http://support.microsoft.c om/kb/8165 14. the IPSEC tunnel would do exactly what you want to do.
